Train derailed!

February 11, 2010 - Big news today in the normally oh so quiet town of Rivers.

Some background information: Rivers was founded because the Canadian railway once opened a railway station here. So the train tracks run alongside the village and long cargo trains with up to 100 wagons pass the village daily.

By itself nothing special, until today. Because what happened: at 09.30 a.m. local time a cargo train derailed at the edge of the town!! Luckily there were mostly minerals in the wagons and it only led to major damage. And even though it's only about a mile from our home, we didn't hear a thing. But the idea of what could have happened, does kinda give you goose bumps. Brrr.
