February 13, 2010 - The winter is full blown, that was already clear. But the speed with which the weather changes from bad to good and/or the other way around, keeps amazing us.
From Friday to Saturday already a lot of snow fell in a short period of time (approx. 20 cm in 24 hours). It means doing a little snowshoveling in the morning, before you can open the garage or frontdoor. Luckily the roads are cleared with big machines fairly quick too. Then at the end of the morning we went on our way to Brandon, despite the radio warnings for strong winds and lots of snow and ice on the roads. The warnings were not in vain, because during the trip we were confronted with stranded cars twice. Just take it easy, I guess.
After some grocery shopping and showing the boys were I work, the sun had returned in the meantime, the wind was gone and the roads had become fair to drive on. So we took the scenic route back home and were amazed by how peaceful it had already become. We took pictures and made home videos during several moments of the day and looking back it's even surprising how quickly the weather can change, in both negative as positive perspective.
