Visit to Riding Mountain / Crazy kids

April 3, 2010 - During Easter we were finally able to go on a roadtrip. Something we'd been wanting to do for a long time, but simply lacked the opportunity for.

On Saturday April 3rd we packed some things, made lunch and headed North. Our goal was to visit Clear Lake in Riding Mountain National Park, because several people had already mentioned how beautiful it should be up there.

The trip to the park was already memorable, but if I look at the pictures and videos now, I'm still left in awe, so pure and unspoiled nature is down here. So unspoiled by the way, that our car got stuck in the mud (see second video). Luckily it's a 4x4 so with the gear in low everything worked out fine, but the driver did experience a moment of stress there (and some people know that that really don't happen often).

On our way home we chuckled, because before we moved to Manitoba some people claimed that all it was, was a flat and boring prairie province. Well, if you wish to see the counter evidence, go ahead and browse through the picturebook.

On Sunday we stayed home, partly because we had to digest the experience of the previous day. And, because being inside makes you kind of tedious, the kids put up a show that according to them should be placed in the picturebook as well.

Have fun watching!
